THREE GOLDEN MOMENTS
from Michael Dineen
Being a first year acting student in 1980. Alfred Emmet was our tutor. Our first improvisation was “you discover a dead body”. I found my daughter dead in a room. I screamed and that was it! Alfred said: “well done, Michael” and then proceeded to talk about this very short scene for five minutes.
I have made many friends at The Questors and maybe one or two enemies! One of those friends is my fellow first year student John Dobson, even though I nearly killed him in a car crash on the last night of our first year as students in 1981...but that’s another story. [Editor: and I still have the scar to prove it!]. We are still part of The Questors and still friends.
Some of my most enjoyable times at The Questors have been working on children’s shows. It started in 1994 with Clare Hoctor and myself putting on Winnie the Pooh. We went on to do The Gingerbread Man. After that it was Pinnochio, Godspell, Grimm Tales, Fireman Sam, Runaways, The Twits and Tom’s Midnight Garden
