RAYMOND MOSS ( -1986) |
We mourn the sudden, untimely death in the middle of November of Ray Moss. The memory of some of his superb and powerful performances in the ’50s and ’60s will still be alive to those who saw him, for instance as Henry V, as Tyrone in Long Day’s Journey into Night and as Brand in the opening production in the new theatre. He left Ealing to take up a post as Drama Adviser in the West Country (christening his cottage “The Questors”!), but later was appointed Drama Adviser to Ealing, in which capacity he was able to be of great assistance to The Questors, including the setting up of Questabout, our schools visiting company which is still going strong. Actors of Ray’s quality are rare in the amateur theatre, and we were fortunate to have attracted his talent to us.
