In a shabby kitchen three sisters watch a beetle scuttle across the floor. Genesis, Sunday, and Apple have returned to their family home for their father’s funeral, but find it still haunted by the memory of childhood trauma, and perhaps by something altogether more mysterious.
What happened to the Bubba all those years ago? Who is the unexpected guest in the garden shed? And what kind of cake is most appropriate for mourning?
Cake is the darkly comic story of a troubled family coming together to lay to rest the ghosts of the past.
