"A fantastic performance"
Come along and enjoy our thrilling antidote to the festive season!
This
1929 thriller features two Oxford undergraduates, obsessed with
Nietzsche, who have killed a fellow student to demonstrate their
intellectual superiority. They hide the body in a chest and invite a
small circle of the victim's friends and family to a party, the chest
acting as the buffet's centrepiece. But one of their guests, the coldly
witty and aesthetic Cadell, becomes suspicious...
The play made
Hamilton’s name and was adapted into a celebrated film by Hitchcock in
1948. More recently Rope had a successful production at the Almeida
Theatre in 2009.
