Daytime literature course
Enter Sir John FalstaffIn September, the Literature Group kicks off with Shakespeare's
Henry IV part I (we will do part II later on). This fascinating play brings the public and private worlds of the monarchy into as sharp a focus as any modern day camera crew could do. It is full of drama, human relationships and people called Henry. It is also the one in which the bard launched Sir John Falstaff onto the world.
Classes
are held on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings 10.00am-noon. The Autumn term starts on September 29th and 30th ends on December 8th and 9th. Half term will be October 27th and 28th. Course fee is still £60 for Questors members and £75 for non-members.
If you would like to prepare for next term, you might like to remind yourselves of that great play
Richard II, which precedes
Henry IV. You will recall that it ends with the deposition and terrible murder of King Richard and the guilt and remorse of the newly-crowned Henry IV.
Everyone is welcome - please bring a copy of the play (ideally the new Penguin) - and prepare to join the friendliest and most stimulating bunch of folk in west London.
