Award-winning JLOS returns to The Questors Theatre with a Gilbert and Sullivan favourite, The
Pirates of Penzance.
Frederic is a pirate, but only because of a misheard word, but now he’s come of age
and finished his apprenticeship he thinks he can leave the band of pirates. But a quirk
of fate means that he is still theoretically bound by his contract and his sense of duty
ensures it.
The pirates take a fancy to the daughters of a major-general, who doesn’t
like the idea of them as sons-in-law. The major-general escapes the gullible pirates by
lying, and later feels bad about it, but not so bad that he doesn’t send the Cornish
police in pursuit of them!
