The Grapevine Spring Beer Festival 2025
The dust is still settling on our Spring Beer Festival, but at present we have the following. No doubt there will be much rationalising tonight, so get down at 7:00 and make the most of it whilst you still can.
Castle Rock Black Gold - Mild
3.8% - Nottingham, Notts
A well balanced dark mild ale with some bitterness, full bodied, but not
overly sweet. An award winning mild that delivers a light fresh taste
to one of the more traditional of beer styles.
Siren Memento - Bitter
3.8% - Wokingham, Berkshire
A wholesome best bitter designed to be true to this iconic beer style,
with only a few respectful tweaks. Expect biscuit and caramel flavours
from malts balanced by English hops with grassy, herbal and citrus
notes and refreshing bitterness. Everything is lifted by just a touch of
Cascade in the dry-hop. Vegan friendly.
Dorking Pilcrow Pale - West Coast Pale
4.0% - Capel, Surrey
Dorking's flagship pale ale harnesses the incredible Citra and Chinook hops
from Yakima valley on the west coast of America, creating a juicy
combination of citrus and tropical flavours. Five different malts marry
to balance a well-rounded pale ale that packs a punch. Vegan friendly.New Bristol Bristol Bitter - Bitter
4.0% - St Paul's, Bristol
A very sessionable, malt-driven Bristol beauty with a light to medium body, unfined and vegan friendly.
Ossett White Rat - Hoppy Pale Ale
Downlands Best - Traditional English Bitter4.0% - Ossett, West Yorkshire
This very pale, hoppy ale is made from low colour malt. A combination of
Cascade, Columbus & Amarillo hops produce an intensely aromatic and
resinous finish.
4.1% - Small Dole, West Sussex
A caramel and toffee nose leads into a rich, fruity, russet brown Best bitter typical of the style. Vegan friendly.Good Chemistry Glowing Embers - Red Ale
5.00% - Bristol
A rich, deep red ale that glows like the last embers of a fire. This
smooth, full-bodied brew balances warming malt depth with a fruitiness
from American hops. Expect notes of orange, apricot and toast, layered
over a biscuity, slightly roasted backbone. Unfined, naturally hazy and vegan friendly.
Mr Whitehead's Heart of Hampshire - Dry Cider
6.00% - Four Marks, Hampshire
The first cider Mr Whitehead's launched (over 20 years ago!), is made from
dozens of varieties from their own orchard as well as a multitude of local
gardens. A sprightly cider, with a splendid light straw colour, it has a
pleasant and strong nose. This crisp cider is almost wine-like, but
on tasting it soon becomes clear this is very much made of apples!

Nene Valley Manhattan Project - American Pale Ale - ALL GONE
4.0% - Oundle, Northamptonshire
A light and refreshing beer with lots of citrus and tropical flavours from the Mandarina, Citra and Eureka hops. Gluten free.
Stewart's 80/- - Classic Heavy - ALL GONE
4.4% - Loanhead, Edinburgh
Titanic Cherry Porter - Fruit Porter - ALL GONE
4.9% - Burslem, Staffordshire
Brewed as a sister beer to Titanic's fabulous Plum Porter, this lightly
hopped, dark red, fruity beer is powerful. The sweet cherry cuts through
and is reminiscent of a cherry Bakewell tart! A well rounded fruity porter, hoppy with notes of sweet cherry.
