Overview Improvisation is a great tool for actors, allowing you to move outside the safety of a rehearsed script - and explore the freedom of your imagination and develop your awareness as a storyteller.
The first session is all about having fun and working on the skills at the heart of improvisation - listening, making offers and committing to your choices. In the following weeks you’ll develop a kind of ‘actor’s toolkit’ – learning how to serve stories and allow them to emerge. You’ll learn the attitudes and ideas that make improvisation work.
Improvisation is ideal for actors who don't want to get stuck down traditional avenues of learning lines and of having to ‘get it right’. It’s not about cleverness or being under pressure to make people laugh – it’s about becoming more confident and relaxed on stage, taking more risks and feeling more creative and liberated.
Throughout this fun and engaging course you’ll be encouraged to release your creative fuel both in life and as a performer.
