Explore how to perform a monologue individually and as part of a group.
Develop your acting, vocal and movement skills, as well as use mime and
music to perform within a final group monologue by playwright Jean
Through a variety of fun drama games, exercises and activities you’ll
explore the skills and techniques needed when working on, and
delivering, a monologue. We’ll look at acting and stage presence
principles, explore vocal and movement skills, as well as improve your
confidence on stage.
In particular, we will look at the
effective use of pauses, intonation, pace, volume, as well as breathing
techniques. We’ll also explore how to make use of facial expressions,
gestures, posture and body language when performing in character.

Towards the end of the course we will work on a group monologue performance in class using mime and music.
This short course will be led by Kelly Manteli who has successfully run several of our previous Platform short courses.
