LEVEL 1 - Introduction to Comedy Improv
'When we woke up this morning, nobody handed us a script for the day... we just improvised our way through it, so you know what, you can already improvise’.
We are excited to be running Improv courses, now in it's fourth year. Become part of a thriving community of improvisors at The Questors Theatre.
Why not join us? If you would like to:
- Meet a whole new bunch of people and play some fun games.
- Be more confident socially: remember people's names and be able to think on your feet.
- Be more confident professionally: presenting and engaging in other industry workshops.
- As an actor: enhance your ability to ‘live in the moment’ and liberate your creativity.
- Get back into Improv if you're feeling rusty.
Then this beginners course is for YOU... and you don't have to be fast, quick or clever!
What will we cover?
We will gently learn by playing lots of games and exercises in pairs and groups, some you may recognise from TV's "Whose Line is it Anyway'. We will learn techniques to help us think on the spot without going completely blank, remember names etc. We will practice ‘getting things wrong’… in fact we CELEBRATE getting things "wrong'!
Conquering this anxiety of getting things wrong has a huge personal liberating effect not limited to the classroom… it spills over into everyday life, empowering us to handle everyday stresses and surprises that life throws at us... don't miss out!
NOTE: Improv is all about supporting each other... we never find humour by picking on anyone, or anyone in the audience.
Who is the Level 1 course for?
Everyone… beginners, actors, non-actors.
Who teaches this course?
