21-year-old Ballet4Life - specialising in teaching Adult Ballet - invites you to learn some classical Adult Ballet Basics in a free, fun & inspiring taster class! All adults with or without any prior training in Ballet are most welcome to join in!
Whilst at the Ballet Barre, you will learn some basic positions of the arms and feet, placement and alignment, some elementary barre exercises such as plié, battement tendu, and battement glissé. Awareness and tips for good posture, core strength, and coordination will be offered. The class will then progress to movement exercises not using the Ballet Barre, standing in the centre of the studio. This portion will concentrate on balance and control, repetition of some elements practised at the Barre, then moving freely through the space, and finishing with expressive movements to the beautiful music used throughout.
What to bring/wear:
- Comfortable exercise clothing to move freely in, socks, or bare feet, or ballet slippers
- Water bottle
