The Same Day Plays format that Questors audiences love is simple, mad, and completely
fresh. At 8:30am five writers blindly choose a cast, are given a theme, and three and a half
hours to create a one-act. Then 5 directors and 15 actors take over, bringing each play to life
over the next six hours. At 7:30 the curtain goes up — and the audience settles in for five
brand new one-acts that didn't exist that morning.
It's theatre made from instinct and desire — there's no time for anything else. And it works.
Since 2024, Same Day Plays has staged 7 events at Questors — 35 original one-acts. Vital,
unpredictable, completely alive. Every single night has left its mark on the audience. These
plays have good stories to tell and real ideas to explore — and they deliver them with the
immediacy and joy of theatre made under the most gloriously impossible deadline.

them.
